Israeli Roots, Canadian Trees: Managing Resettlement
Stresses and Finding Jewish Community as a Newcomer Parent is
a supportive, 11-session biweekly program for Israeli newcomers with children,
designed to help navigate the uncertainty of resettlement. Through
psychoeducation and community connection, participants will gain tools and
information to manage the emotional challenges of adapting to a new environment
while building a sense of belonging. Session topics include managing stress in
the family home, understanding anxiety, tips for the challenges of immigrant
parenting (including through adolescence), navigating the sense of
belonging. This hybrid (Zoom and in-person) program includes opportunities
to get to know local Jewish communities and services, offering both guidance
